Private front porch swings at Eden House

Normally, I prefer oceanfront properties, but could not resist the historic, charming, and intimate Eden House in Key West, Florida. How could anyone with its private front-porch swings and hammocks? This boutique hotel offers a variety of room styles from a private room to an apartment to a two-story loft to two-bedroom units. We chose one of the Eden House’s roomy apartments with a separate bedroom.

Full disclosure: I’m hammock-challenged…took me a couple of tries but finally got the hang of it at the Eden House. This hammock was right outside our front door.

Our separate bedroom at the Eden House in Key West, Florida was very comfortable. As you’ll see in the pic, there is a window air conditioner unit. I’m not a fan (no pun intended) of having air blown right on me, but the ceiling fan cooled off our room sufficiently. Although we did have to turn the AC unit on our last night as a very lively gecko outside our unit was working on his mating call. They are so loud!

Our one-bedroom suite at Eden House in Key West came with one bathroom with a shower unit (no bathtub, which was fine with us).

  1. Eden House looks like a beautiful place to stay. I have been thinking about visiting Key West. I will add this to my list of places to stay.

  11. Haha I am hammock challenged sometimes too 😉 this looks like such a cute hotel. I love the little porch areas, and with a little outdoor shower!

  12. What a great little place. I love the hammocks and porch springs, and how unique to have the shower cubicle out there too. I love a boutique hotel that has a little character – and a cat

  13. The Eden House looks like such a charming place to stay! I love the tropical scenery outside. It looks like you’re staying in the middle of a rainforest! My husband and I are thinking about visiting Key West this year, so we’ll have to keep this spot in mind. Thank you for sharing!

  14. What a charming place to stay! I love the private porches with the swings – they look like a beautiful spot to relax in! Also, if there is a cat at check in I’m automatically sold! I’d love to stay here! Thanks for the great guide!
